Amaranth has been subjected to a stabilization process by capillarity for its conservation. Stabilization is done with still fresh plants. Throught this process, the plant is soaked in 5cm of preservative solution based on vegetable glycerin, water and food coloring. Glycerin helps retain water within the plant, and colorants give it the desired color. This process allows the plant to maintain its flexibility.
